PHILIPPINE SEA (Aug. 26, 2020) Seaman Lopez, Master at Arms 2nd Class Smith and Master at Arms 2nd Class Mandoza, Sailors with the security element aboard amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), demonstrate how to properly detain Cpl. Burkle, a Marine with Law Enforcement (LE) detachment, 31st MEU, during detainee training. America, flagship of the America Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), 31st MEU team, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operation to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
