Pallets of food for distribution to the Ministry of Peshmerga, Aug. 18, 2020 at Erbil, Iraq. More than 200,000 pounds of food was delivered through the Counter-ISIS Train and Equip Fund and will provide for more than 17,000 meals for Peshmerga soldiers.
As the military arm of the Global Coalition to defeat Daesh in Iraq and Syria, CJTF-OIR oversees the execution of the U.S. Counter-ISIS Train and Equip Fund (CTEF) in these nations. CTEF is a U.S. Congressionally appropriated, enemy-focused, geographically-bound funding stream to enable our partner forces to defeat Daesh in Iraq and Syria. From 2014 to 2020, the CJTF-OIR CTEF program divested or obligated more than $5 billion to its partner security forces.
