Rapid Aerostat Initial Deployment (RAID) towers for the Baghdad Operations Center, staged at Camp Taji, Iraq, July 5, 2020. The RAID towers, valued at $33 million, were divested through the Counter-ISIS Train and Equip Fund. They will be used by Iraqi Security Forces to safeguard key strategic assets and infrastructure, by improving surveillance in day and night conditions.
As the military arm of the Global Coalition to defeat Daesh in Iraq and Syria, CJTF-OIR oversees the execution of the U.S. Counter-ISIS Train and Equip Fund (CTEF) in these nations. CTEF is a U.S. Congressionally appropriated, enemy-focused, geographically-bound funding stream to enable our partner forces to defeat Daesh in Iraq and Syria. From 2014 to 2020, the CJTF-OIR CTEF program divested or obligated more than $5 billion to its partner security forces.
