MAYPORT, Fla. (Sept. 18, 2020) – Lt. Cmdr. Kevin Bernstein, a sports medicine physician at Naval Branch Health Clinic Mayport, injects platelet-rich plasma into Army Maj. John Kiel’s knee. Bernstein, a native of Deer Park, New York, holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from Drexel University College of Medicine. “Musculoskeletal injuries are the top cluster of diagnoses affecting mission readiness. Being able to provide diagnostic and therapeutic musculoskeletal ultrasound and regenerative treatments to the waterfront is of significant importance to helping our warfighters get back to the fight as a medically ready force. It’s an honor to treat all service members across all services, while teaching the next generation of medical officers at our residency program as well as our hospital corpsmen heading out to the Navy fleet.” (U.S. Navy photo by Jacob Sippel, Naval Hospital Jacksonville/Released).
