Edward Siguenza, a mass communication specialist with the 69th Public Affairs Detachment, stands at the distance at which he could feel the heat from the flames where a fire broke out at an apartment complex, Oct. 1, 2020, North Highlands, California. Siguenza was on his way to work when he noticed the apartment complex on fire. He entered the burning apartment to ensure no one was inside, then warned neighboring apartments on Sept. 18, 2020.
