VICENZA, Italy - USAG Italy Col. Daniel J. Vogel joined U.S. Army Africa Commander Maj. Gen. Andrew Rohling, 173rd Airborne Brigade Commander Col. Kenneth Burgess, and Italian Senior Officer Col. Michele Biasiutti at the St. Michael's Day observance Sept. 29, 2020, at the Chiesa di Santa Maria dei Servi, in downtown Vicenza. Participants gathered to honor the winged warrior Saint Michael, patron saint of both U.S. Army Paratroopers and Italian State Police.
This joint ceremony has become a longstanding tradition, which brings together civilian and military senior leaders, along with representatives of local Veteran associations.
