Cleveland Museum of Natural History staff begin removing flowering rush, an invasive plant species, from ~860 acres of marsh at Mentor Lagoons Nature Preserve and and Mentor Marsh State Nature Preserve located on the southern shore of Lake Erie, Mentor, OH, August 21, 2020.
This project is necessary to remove the invasive flowering rush that chokes out native species, creating a monoculture within the marsh that cannot support native species.
