201009-M-UV498-2090 PACIFIC OCEAN (Oct. 9, 2020) – U.S. Marines with Charlie Company, Battalion Landing Team 1/4, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, build a terrain model aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) in preparation for training ashore. The terrain model assists Marines in identifying landmarks and structures on a map during training missions. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group and the 15th MEU are currently conducting routine operations in the eastern Pacific Ocean. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Mackenzie Binion)
