FORT BENNING, Ga. – Sgt. Maj. of the Army Michael A. Grinston (second from left) gets a look at a recently renovated home here Oct. 22. With him are representatives of a private company that partners with Fort Benning to maintain more than 4,000 homes for military Families. Grinston said a vital part of the Army's effort to improve housing services for Army Families will be close involvement of those in leadership positions. The Army earlier this month announced plans to spend billions of dollars on Family housing and Soldier barracks. Grinston said he and other top Army leaders will keep up close scrutiny of housing services now and in years to come. Also accompanying Grinston at the home were Command Sgt. Maj. Brett W. Johnson (right), senior enlisted leader of U.S. Army Garrison Fort Benning, and the garrison's commander, Col. Matthew Scalia.
