The Honorable Thomas McCaffery, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs, is given a tour of the Shipboard Mass Casualty simulator by Cmdr. Ruben Lopez, Department Chair of the Navy Hospital Corpsman Basic program at the Medical Education and Training Campus, while students attend to simulated mass casualties. McCaffery met with Medical Education and Training Campus leadership and toured programs to learn how the schoolhouse trains and prepares the future enlisted medical force during a visit Oct. 20 as part of a multi-day visit to Joint Base San Antonio, Texas.
