U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Jared Wood, a field artillery sensor support man with 3d Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, 3d Marine Division, shoots an azimuth at Combined Arms Training Center, Camp Fuji, Japan, Oct. 24, 2020. Wood was preparing a training area for Bravo Battery, 3/12 during Artillery Relocation Training Program 20.3, an exercise held to strengthen the defense of Japan and the U.S.-Japan Alliance. The skills developed at ARTP increase the lethality and proficiency of the only permanently forward-deployed artillery unit in the Marine Corps, enabling them to provide precision indirect fires. Wood is a native of Marietta, New York. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Savannah Mesimer)
