Sailors assigned to U.S. Fleet Forces Band take the Navy-wide advancement exam at the band’s facility onboard Naval Station Norfolk. The advancement examinations are currently being administered with a tailored approach, per NAVADMIN 222/20, to ensure the safety of Sailors during the COVID-19 outbreak and to maintain the high standards and continued culture of learning that drive our enlisted advancement system. As musical representative for U.S. Fleet Forces Command, the band provides support for ships, military bases, foreign dignitaries, and community events throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Ohio River Valley areas of the United States, and regularly deploys to Central and South America.
