U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Laura J. Richardson, the commanding general of U.S. Army North (Fifth Army) and the Joint Force Land Component Command, and Command Sgt. Maj. Phil K. Barretto, the senior enlisted advisor of U.S. Army North, present coins to U.S. Air Force Capt. Sarah Schall, M.D.; Capt. Charles Miller, M.D.; 1st Lt. Ian Krug, R.N.; Staff Sgt. LaShauna Brown, medical technician; and Capt. Ramil Labiran, R.N., at the University Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, Nov. 18, 2020. Approximately 60 service members arrived in El Paso in early November, working jointly with the civilian hospitals to assist in the mitigation of COVID-19 and help citizens in need. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency in support of the whole-of-America COVID-19 response.
