Isabella Maduka, 6, pats her finger into a stamp pad so she can record her fingerprints in a booklet at Mokapu Mall, Aug. 7. Children were able to make a booklet they could complete and turn into their local police station. The data, which includes fingerprints and photos are entered into the police database and may be useful in locating the child when they are missing. Marine Corps Base Hawaii hosted its first National Night Out this year at Mokapu Mall, featuring static displays, entertainment, law enforcement officials and various organizations. Service members, civilians and families were able to meet and learn about representatives from these organizations. National Night Out, which was started in 1984 by the National Association of Town Watch, promotes the prevention of crime and drug abuse. For more information, visit http://www.natw.org/nno/.
