U.S. Air Force Airman Waicha Mwale, a supply specialist assigned with the Michigan National Guard’s COVID-19 response task force, is working at Food Gatherers food bank in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Dec. 3, 2020. He is 1 of 12 Airmen who are working at the food bank and soup kitchen in Washtenaw County helping those in need of food.
“It’s an eye opener and it is one of those things you may not think about, I mean people not having enough to eat,” said Mwale. “I’m happy I can go home content knowing that I’m helping someone have a meal, especially in this season.”
