Staff Sgt. John Taft, a pathfinder assigned to Kosovo Force, Regional Command-East, maintains communications with aircraft pilots during a helicopter landing site clearance operation in Kosovo on Dec. 23, 2020. The ground team kept in contact with the UH-60 Black Hawk pilots during the sweep of the area for unexploded ordnance. Once the area was cleared, the ground team was picked up and safely taken to the next HLS. Pathfinder establish operating helicopter landing zones, and are essential to the HLS mission.
