FORT BENNING, Ga. – Maj. Gen. Patrick J. Donahoe, commanding general of the U.S. Army Maneuver Center of Excellence and Fort Benning, accompanied by other key officials, makes a "walking town hall" visit for a first-hand look at conditions at the Norton Court residential area here Jan. 20. The walk-through was part of Donahoe's new initiative to improve oversight of Fort Benning's residential housing by giving himself and other officials a chance to talk face-to-face with residents and gain eyes-on awareness of housing conditions. As a result of the visit, officials intend to schedule Norton Court for power-washing of the buildings and other improvements. Plans call for Donahoe and others to visit residential housing areas at a rate of one a month.
