The 19th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, Sgt. Maj. Troy E. Black, attends the relief and appointment of Sgt. Maj. Grade and Sgt. Maj. Ruiz in conjunction with a retirement ceremony in honor of Sgt. Maj. Grade at Marine Corps Forces Reserve, New Orleans, La, Feb. 4, 2021. The Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps conducted the visit to speak with the Staff-Non Commissioned Officers and Senior Leadership about his priorities for the next 12 months. Marine Forces Reserve organizes, mans, equips, trains, and sustains more than 40,000 Drilling Reserve Marines and some 60,000 Individual Ready Reserve Marines to support Theater Security Cooperation Exercises and Overseas Contingency Operation requirements.
