Col. Duane Green (right) received the Army's Distinguished Service Medal in the Army Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Deputy Chief of Staff G-6 (DCS G-6) Conference Room at the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia on February 5, 2021. DCS G-6 Lt. Gen. John Morrison (left) hosted the ceremony, presented the award and in the photo also gave Col. Green a gift of giant master parachutist wings with the Army logo in the center.
Col. Green is an career Army Signal Corps officer serving as the CIO and G-6 Chief of Staff. He has commanded multiple military units, most recently the 2,100-Soldier 160th Signal Brigade.
The Distinguished Service Medal was established in 1918 and is awarded for exceptionally meritorious service to the government in a duty of great responsibility.
