PACIFIC OCEAN (Nov. 2, 2020) – Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) 3rd Class Scott Kibler (left) gives the signal to launch a CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter, attached to the Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 164 (Reinforced), 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, with Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) 1st Class Rahgene Ross serving as a safety observer during night flight operations aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22). The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group and the 15th MEU are conducting at-sea training events in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations.
