INDIAN OCEAN (Dec. 31, 2020) –An MH-60R Seahawk, top, assigned to Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 49, and an MH-60S Seahawk, assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 23, conduct flight operation from the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8). The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group and the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit are conducting operations in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of responsibility.
