Christopher Carrillo, a team leader with Bravo Company, Battalion Landing Team 1/4, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, conducts a radio check with an AN/PRC-152 handheld radio. The U.S. repositioned between 600 and 800 personnel from Somalia to elsewhere in East Africa. This transition will facilitate multi-national collaboration in the fight against violent extremist organizations operating in Somalia and wherever else they exist.
