U.S. Army 1st Lt. Ian Lloyd is a UH-60 Black Hawk pilot and recently took command of Alpha Company, 2-104th General Support Aviation Battalion, 28th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade. Although he followed his family's footsteps (his father, two uncles and two cousins also serve in the Pennsylvania National Guard) he says he joined the military because he felt a personal desire to do so.
After deployment, he looks forward to earning a pilot-in-command designation and getting back to his civilian job, where he flies helicopters for the Pennsylvania State Police.
