Army Chief Warrant Officer 3 Joseph McKire looks back at American soil for the last time for several months as he boards a plane at Fort Hood, Texas, which will take him to Poland for deployment on Feb. 8, 2021. McKire is a food advisor assigned to the 50th Regional Support Group, a Florida Army Guard unit based in Homestead, Florida. In Poland, McKire’s unit will support the European Deterrence Initiative as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve by providing management and base operations support at various forward operating sites throughout the country.
