U.S. Marines with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 461, Marine Aircraft Group 29, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, begin daily startup procedures in preparation of a support by fire exercise on Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, Calif., Feb. 4, 2021. MAG-29 assisted Golf Battery, 2nd Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, 2d Marine Division, by sling loading and transporting M777 Howitzers by aircraft. The training is part of Integrated Service Level Training Exercise (SLTE) 2-21, a combined arms training exercise intended to produce combat ready forces capable of operating as an integrated Marine Air-Ground Task Force. SLTE 2-21 affords 6th Marine Regiment an opportunity to exercise command and control of warfighting functions from across the Marine Corps and against a live, free thinking, adversary.
