U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Timothy Allen, an explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) technician with Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Butler EOD, extracts a rod from an M777 Howitzer on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 25, 2021. EOD technicians and artillery Marines conducted normal M777 Howitzer firing procedures, however, dummy rounds were intentionally lodged in the 16.7 ft. barrel of the weapon system so each unit could demonstrate their extraction techniques. Allen is native of Warsaw, Missouri. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Alex Fairchild)
