Sgt. Lamar Armstrong with the Texas National Guard, deployed to the Middle East in support of Task Force Spartan, starts to shrug off his ruck sack after earning the Norwegian Foot March Badge at the Joint Training Center in Jordan, Feb. 27. Armstrong finished the 18.6 miles (30 Kilometers) challenge while wearing a 25-pound ruck sacks in under 4 hours and 30 minutes wears the salt and sweat on his face as a badge of honor and proof of a solid ruck. The Norwegian Foot March Badge is an approved foreign award that may be worn on the Army service uniform.
