Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command

Larry Ragan, from Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command’s G2 Intelligence and Security Directorate, discusses an active shooter scenario with an exercise role player during the Point Defender 2012 exercise Aug. 20-23 at Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point, N.C. The role player, with mock wounds to his chest and back , portrayed a shooting victim during the scenario. Ragan is an SDDC antiterrorism officer who oversees the annual exercise. In support of the exercise, more than 30 Reserve Soldiers and Airmen -- from the 533rd Military Police Battalion, Cary, N.C., and the 931st Security Forces Squadron, Wichita, Kan. -- provided role players, safety personnel, opposition forces, exercise control center staff, and more. Point Defender is an SDDC antiterrorism and force protection exercise held annually at MOTSU.
