Michael Fox, a firefighter-emergency medical technician paramedic assigned to the 596th Transportation Brigade, Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point, N.C., provides care for a victim of a mock wharf fire during the Point Defender 2012 exercise Aug. 20-23 at MOTSU. The scenario was one of dozens of events that unfolded during the four-day exercise. Point Defender is a Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command antiterrorism and force protection exercise held annually at MOTSU. As part of the exercise, personnel assigned to the 596th Trans. Bde. worked through dozens of scenarios designed to develop, refine and test the command’s antiterrorism response procedures.
