Left to right, Col. Michael Gough, the Marine Aircraft Group 13 commanding officer, Col. Robert Kuckuk, the Marine Corps Air Station Yuma commanding officer, Brig. Gen. (Maj. Gen. select) Steven W. Busby, the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing commanding general, and Senator John McCain, the Republican representative of Arizona, begin their tour of the still-under-construction F-35 Joint Strike Fighter facilities at MCAS Yuma, Aug. 22. As of a year ago, ground hadn’t been broken on the site the hangars now stand. The Senator’s and commanding general’s tours served to inform command about the progress of the JSF, the construction and what lies ahead for the program.
