U.S. Marines with Battery C, 1st Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, conceal their fighting positions before beginning a live-fire defense simulation at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, California, March 31, 2021. Marines use concealment to make it more difficult for their positions to be seen by air support or reconnaissance efforts. During this live-fire training, the battery used M777 towed 155 mm howitzers, .50-caliber machine guns, M240B machine guns as well as M4 carbines and M16A1 rifles to repel notional enemy attacks from the artillery position.
