U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville Districts, Commander, Col. Andrew Kelly visits with the Miami Restoration Resident Office. The team observes the beginnings of the programmatic execution of the Central Everglades Planning Project contract 1. A crane at the Central Everglades Planning Project contract 1 lifts the tower of a tug boat which will transport barges up the L-67 canal. The barges will remove spoil across the L-67A levee. The Central Everglades Planning Project will identify and plan projects on land already in public ownership to allow more water to be directed south to the central Everglades, Everglades National Park, and Florida Bay.
