Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18 Hornets Fly behind a Maine Air National Guard KC-135R after a mid-air refueling during the North American Air Defense Command Exercise AMALGAM HAWK conducted on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, Developed in coordination with NAV Canada and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), working with the Canadian Air Defence Sector at 22 Wing North Bay, Ontario, and civilian air traffic control in the Montreal area, RCAF CF-18 Hornet and USAF F-15 Eagle fighter jets along with KC-135 Stratotanker air-to-air refueling aircraft practiced cross-border response procedures in high-density airspace to maintain NORAD’s capability to identify and coordinate rapid responses to airborne threats to North America.
