KINGS BAY, Ga., (May 27, 2021) Cmdr. Jason Anderson salutes the side boys at the change of command ceremony for the Ohio-class ballistic-missile submarine USS Rhode Island (SSBN 740) (Gold). Cmdr. David Burke relieved Anderson as the commanding officer of Rhode Island Gold crew. Rhode Island is one of six ballistic-missile submarines stationed at the base and is capable of carrying up to 20 submarine-launched ballistic missiles with multiple warheads.
