British Royal Navy Lt. Hugo G. Floyer points toward a navigational checkpoint visible from the bridge of the U.S. Navy guided missile destroyer USS Winston S. Churchill (DDG 81) Sept. 6, 2012, in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. Floyer, Churchill's navigator, was filling the only permanent position for foreign exchange officers on a U.S. warship. Winston S. Churchill deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility to conduct maritime security operations, theater security cooperation efforts and support missions as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
