Volunteers at the Albanian Red Cross booth in Vlore educate the public on their recent COVID-19 response and educational outreach programs at a military-sponsored open house that was held as part of DEFENDER-Europe 21 activities May 21, 2021 in Vlore, Albania.
The ARC often works hand in hand with Albanian military emergency responders, medical personnel and other entities when providing relief and education to the public here. DEFENDER-Europe 21 is a large-scale U.S. Army-led exercise designed to build readiness and interoperability between the U.S., NATO allies and partner militaries. This year, more than 28,000 multinational forces from 26 nations will conduct nearly simultaneous operations across more than 30 training areas in more than a dozen countries from the Baltics to the strategically important Balkans and Black Sea Region.
