A U.S. Marine Corps F/A-18 Hornet aircraft recieves fuel from a U.S. Air Force KC-135R Stratotanker aircraft assigned to the 340th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron during operations supporting the Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve May 24, 2021. The Hornet is a flexible, multirole combat jet that bolsters USCENTCOM’s air component and performs as fighter escort, fleet air defense, suppression of enemy air defenses, air interdiction, close air support, and aerial reconnaissance.
