Built on the remnants of old army barracks, Building 1500 at Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola now serves as base headquarters. Once the official Naval School of Photography, this Spanish colonial revival building stands just behind the location of the 1698 settlement. Concrete circles, located in the grass in front of the building, represent the outline of the fort that was once a key defense structure for the Spanish and French.
