Sgt. 1st Class Terry Pansing of C Company, 4th Battalion, 118th Infantry Regiment uses a halyard to secure a South Carolina State flag to the battalion's flagpole at Camp Buehring, Kuwait Sept. 11. Pansing and other C Company Soldiers raised the flag to half-mast to honor those who fell on 9/11 and in the wars that followed. In addition to commemorating the fallen, Pansing and his brother Maj. Marcus Wright, an infantry officer, have carried the flag on multiple overseas deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan to represent South Carolina, where they were raised.
