A somewhat faded and tattered South Carolina State flies at half-mast at Camp Buehring, Kuwait Sept. 11. Soldiers of C Company, 4th Battalion, 118th Infantry Regiment raised the flag to half-mast to honor those who fell on 9/11 and in the wars that followed. The flag belongs to C Company soldier Sgt. 1st Class Terry Pansing and his brother, Maj. Marcus Wright, and infantry officer. In addition to commemorating the fallen, Pansing and Wright have carried the flag on multiple overseas deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan to represent South Carolina, where they were raised. Pansing is a resident of Isle of Palms, S.C. (Photo by Spc. Kate McGrath)
