A U.S. Marine Corps MV-22B Osprey with Medium Marine Tilt Rotor Squadron 265 (Reinforced), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), flies over the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), during a touch and go drill in the Philippine Sea, June 12, 2021. Marines and the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force worked alongside one another to conduct touch and go drills consisting of a MV-22B landing and lifting off in a timely manner. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
