U.S. Marine Military Working Dog, Eddie, with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), watches as his handler opens his medicine bag during a K-9 first aid class aboard amphibious dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42) in Sasebo, Japan, June 19, 2021. The training was conducted to present the opportunity for both green and blue side sailors to be equipped with the knowledge on how to treat a military K-9. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
