U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Levi Smith, a military working dog handler with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), teaches a K-9 first aid class aboard USS Germantown (LSD-42) in Sasebo, Japan, June 19, 2021. The training was conducted to present the opportunity for both green and blue side sailors to be equipped with the knowledge on how to treat a military K-9s. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
