NMRC is the lead medical research lab for the U.S. Navy’s Bureau of Medicine and Surgery and has seven subordinate laboratories that conduct research in infectious diseases, biological warfare detection and defense, combat casualty care, environmental health, aerospace and undersea medicine, epidemiology and behavioral sciences, and medical modeling, simulation and operational mission support.
