The guidons of Task Force Anaconda, 164th Air Defense Artillery Brigade and Task Force Veritas, 678th Air Defense Artillery Brigade switch positions to signify the transfer of command at the National Capital Region Integrated Air Defense System transfer of authority ceremony at Fort Myer, Virginia, June 26, 2021. Task Force Veritas of the 678th Air Defense Artillery Brigade headquartered in South Carolina replaced Task Force Anaconda of the 164th Air Defense Artillery Brigade headquartered in Florida. An activity of the North American Aerospace Defense Command and the Joint Air Defense Operations Center, the NCR-IADS operates and trains throughout the NCR, to include a facility on Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, in order to protect the NCR against air threats.
