U.S. Army Col. Stephen Walker, 678th Air Defense Artillery Brigade Task Force Veritas commander, speaks at the National Capital Region Integrated Air Defense System transfer of authority ceremony at Fort Myer, Virginia, June 26, 2021. Walker replaced outgoing commander Col. Patrick Thompson, 164th Air Defense Artillery Brigade Task Force Anaconda during the ceremony. This is the 678th's 3rd rotation in support of Operation Noble Eagle since 2014. An activity of the North American Aerospace Defense Command and the Joint Air Defense Operations Center, the NCR-IADS operates and trains throughout the NCR, to include a facility on Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, in order to protect the NCR against air threats.
