A California Air National Guard C-130 taxis to the runway July 14, 2021 at McClellan Air Tanker Base, Sacramento, Calif. as the U.S. Flag waves in the wind. The Air Force C-130 MAFFS-equipped aircraft, out of Channel Islands, Calif. was requested by the National Interagency Fire Center and approved by the Secretary of Defense, are providing unique fire-fighting capabilities. The Air Force MAFFS teams are managed by First Air Force (Air Forces Northern)’s 153rd Air Expeditionary Group.
