KINGS BAY, Ga., (July 14, 2021) Rear Adm. John Spencer, commander, Submarine Group Ten, delivers remarks during a Resident Officer in Charge of Construction (ROICC) ribbon cutting ceremony, July 14, to kick off the second phase of construction for the Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay Dry Dock Recapitalization project. Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Southeast awarded the $359.7 million Phase B contract on Jan. 8, 2020 and it is scheduled to be completed by Oct. 2022. The Kings Bay Dry Dock Recapitalization project will directly support the Navy’s next generation of ballistic-missile submarines upon completion in July 2023.
