Marine Corps Installations Pacific (MCIPAC) and MCAS Futenma hosted visitors from the Okinawa Prefectural Government (OPG), Ginowan City, the Okinawa Defense Bureau (ODB) and the Ministry of Environment to observe MCIPAC environmental branch personnel draw perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) Effluent Treatment System (PETS) treated water samples. Samples were provided to the OPG and ODB to enable them to test the water to demonstrate the effectiveness and safety of PETS.
