Brig. Gen. Richard D. Clarke promotes his driver, Sgt. Ryan Kay to staff sergeant while deployed to the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California. Clarke and Kay are participating in the Division Tactical Command Post exercise in support of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry). The exercise is designed to simulate the deployment environment in an effort to prepare soldiers of the 10th Mountain Division (LI) for operations in Afghanistan.
